ABOUT CCI
Conanicut Communications was founded in 1997 by Bruce Crabtree and incorporated in October 1999. Before founding the company, Bruce worked in book publishing, performing editorial and production work for a leading publisher of college textbooks. Today, in addition to developing web sites and software, Bruce continues to create content for educational websites published by his former employer. Since its founding in the 1990s, Conanicut Communications has grown into a full-service web and software development business, specializing in Adobe ColdFusion™ and Flex™ programming. Please see the links below for examples of some of our work. Following are a few of our clients. CorporateSince 2009, Conanicut Communications has partnered with Specific Impulse, Inc., to provide information-rich business solutions to Fortune 500 firms. Projects we have contibuted to include translation of the Seagate Electronics Brand Portal for their global sales force, and several custom e-mail marketing systems for Cisco Systems. We created this site, which features an animated "filmstrip widget" on the home page to showcase some of this Detroit-based company's technologies. The site also includes a custom search engine and a dynamic HTML menu with "crumb trails." J-Boats, Inc. Conanicut Communications Inc. manages and hosts a database-driven corporate intranet for this sailboat manufacturer. We programmed a custom order management system for them that allows their dealers to enter orders on the web site for management by the home office. The site also includes a user-manageable image library for use by J-Boats dealers. The intranet is private and password-protected and can be viewed only by J-Boats dealers. Their main corporate site can be seen here. Contract Library, LLC Our founder, Bruce Crabtree, is the software engineer and CTO for this Michigan-based firm offering a feature-rich web-based contract management system for businesses of all sizes and types. Built with Adobe Flex™, Contract Library is an example of a Rich Internet Application, a web site that looks and behaves like a desktop application. For more information and a personal demonstration, please contact us. Small BusinessWe created a custom shopping cart and connected it with PayPal for this local handbag designer. We're happy to take on smaller projects, too. Here's an example of a simple site we created for an alternative energy company seeking to publicize its new wind farm under development in Nicaragua. Here's another simple site we created for a small business. We can put together a custom-designed site like this for you in just a few days, for just a few hundred dollars. Artists and Art GalleriesThe following three sites belong to independent artists. Each site is programmed so that the artists can update their site themselves. Conanicut Communications also provides webmaster services for the Admiralty Gallery in Vero Beach, Florida. Artists, please see this page for more information. OrganizationalWe created a custom content management system for this organization to allow it to manage its site itself. We also built them a private intranet to allow them to track and communicate with their members. (The intranet is private and password-protected, but you can see the public site at the link above.). PublicityMainella Motivational Seminars This was one of our first websites, for a motivational speaker in Rhode Island. Real EstateAppraiser Directories Conanicut Communications created and manages a family of seven real estate appraiser directories covering the entire U.S. See our web directories page for links to these sites.
